Surface cleaning, modification and improvements by excimer lamps

Excimer lamps like XERADEX® are easily integrated into an irradiation setup for UV curing and add the benefit of matting without additional matting agents. The 172 nm emission penetrates a few hundred nanometers into the Acrylate and cures a thin layer which causes shrinking. After a common UV curing process step a matte lacquer is presented. A low gloss level of 2.5 at 65° or 1.5 at 85° is achievable. Additionally, an increased hardness of the surface is determined with an improved chemical resistance and pleasant surface feel.
