RadTech Europe announces the 4th Awards for Innovation Competition 2009

RadTech Europe (RTE), the European Association promoting the use of UV/EB technology, recently announced the two 2009 winners of the RTE Awards for Innovation Competition at its bi-annual RTE Conference & Exhibition held in Nice (France) 14th-15th October 2009.

On behalf of the RTE Marketing Committee, Quaker has been nominated for the innovation award on novel applications for radcure technology. Wilfried Grob (BASF) as chairman of the marketing committee handed over the award to Mr. Pete Weissman from Quaker for its Rapidshield technology, a technology that enables the highspeed coating of concrete floors, increasing durability and cleanability of the surface. Mr. Weissman thanked RadTech Europe for the award. He explained the technology itself had been available for a long time, but commercialization of the project took perseverance.

In the other category of the Innovation Awards – Industrial Coatings/Adhesives, DELO was singled out again just as in 2007 for its DELO-KATIOBOND LP655, a new developed flexible adhesive for extensive applications in flexible electronics. Dr. Dietmar Dengler, Head of Research & Development at DELO is proud of having received the award again for 2009. With the help of the award, DELO is able to promote their products even more regarding potential customers and in order to obtain more publicity.

The awards were announced on the 14th of October at the Plenary Session of the RTE Conference, where the two winners were presented with certificates. The winning companies were also awarded free one-year RTE membership and recognition in a variety of trade magazines, technical publications and via RTE media tools such as RadTech News magazine and RTE’s website www.radtech-europe.com
